About Us

Our Staff

Executive Director: Andy Nagy, CRSP
Executive Assistant: Bunty Charbonneau
Safety Advisor: Gord Martin
Safety Advisor: Kevin Mooney

That commitment to excellence is reflected in our very professional and personable staff. Their goal is to take a leadership role in advising and assisting our members in safety issues, with a focus on reducing the number of on-job injuries, and by demonstrating methods of returning injured workers to active members of the workforce as soon as practical.

We also believe in developing an open and honest working partnership with our members in implementing and developing safety related programs. Our staff is available to firms for safety audits, inspections, counseling and training in virtually every aspect of safe operating procedures. We actively support and encourage our members in safety related initiatives and programs, as we help them evaluate, improve and maintain the highest possible standards of safety.

Our Goals

  • To continually strive for a reduction in work related injuries and the cost of treating those injuries.
  • To motivate, train and educate firms in reducing Workers’ Compensation claims and associated costs.
  • To achieve a corresponding decrease in the injury fund deficit and in employer’s contributions to the fund.
  • To help injured personnel return to the workforce as soon as possible.

C6 Safety Vision

C6 Safety’s plans for the next five years is to create an environment that will lead to a sustained reduction in WCB claims rates and WCB claims duration and to stimulate positive change(s) in health and safety management practices in our industry as a whole. This means we will try to improve companies that already manage health and safety in their workplace and try to convince “non-believers” to join those companies that actively manage health and safety in their businesses. Eventually, we would like to effect change in the culture of our industry so that safety management principles are seen as part of smart business practices

Our Vision is to achieve the safest possible working environment for all employees in C6.

Our Mission is to reduce time loss injure frequency rates and durations through the building of effective relationships with employers, employer groups and government agencies and through public awareness, education, training and motivation of targeted employers.

A Shared Vision

At the C6 Safety Association, we all share a common vision: Improved Safety through Education and Training. We also share a number of beliefs that we believe benefit all.

  • We believe safety is an attitude, not a mater of legislation or policing.
  • We believe that safety is good for people, and good for business.
  • We believe improved safety must be done through a proactive rather than reactive approach.
  • We believe safety is a matter of developing and maintaining an open dialogue both within our membership and between our members and regulatory bodies.
  • We believe in keeping an open forum where our members can share their ideas, voice their concerns, and work collectively towards a safer workforce for all.
  • We believe that mutual co-operation and understanding among all members is an important element in attaining our mutual goal of improved safety for all.
  • We believe safety is everyone’s responsibility.

We believe in an open and honest working partnership with our members.
